PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of 30 local youth who graduated from the iServe Youth Leadership Program during a special program on Thursday, May 15.

“These exceptional young leaders represent Palmdale’s bright future,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “They demonstrated an enthusiasm for helping their neighbors and a dedication to civic engagement. The experiences and knowledge they gained from iServe established a foundation for continued growth.”

iServe is a dynamic and immersive program designed for Palmdale students ages 12 to 17, offering a unique behind-the-scenes look at local government in action. Over the course of five months, participants gained hands-on experience across various City departments, developing a deeper understanding of municipal operations. In addition to exploring diverse career paths in the public sector, students engaged in leadership-building activities and played an active role in shaping the future of youth involvement in Palmdale.

“We witnessed a remarkable transformation in these students,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “They arrived with curious minds about our City and departed equipped with practical knowledge about our government. Their fresh perspectives also left a lasting impression on our City staff.”

The City will begin accepting applications for its next iServe Youth Leadership Program in the fall. To learn more about iServe and Palmdale’s other youth opportunities, visit CityofPalmdaleCA.gov/Youth.
