City of Palmdale Accidents, Statistics And Numbers For 2023

Palmdale, CA.- In 2023, The City of Palmdale suffered 20 fatal traffic collisions and over 600 injury collisions.

Speed was a component of the cause of a large percentage of the collisions. The speed involved in a collision is directly related to the extent of the injury the parties endure.

The Antelope Valley Traffic Task Force (AVTTF), which consists of Palmdale Station Deputies, Lancaster Station Deputies, and AV CHP Officers, conducted targeted speed enforcement operations throughout 2023 and 2024 and has seen a reduction in fatal collisions as a result. As part of that ongoing effort, the AVTTF conducted a speed enforcement operation on Avenue M near 40th Street East in the City of Palmdale. The operation resulted in 69 citations for speed during a two-and-a-half-hour period. The maximum speed seen during the operation was 98 miles an hour.

Palmdale Station will be conducting similar enforcement efforts throughout the city in the future and would like to remind motorists to slow down, be attentive, and drive defensively and sober, so that you may avoid a collision.
