City of Lancaster and City of Palmdale Host an In-Person Fireworks Event for Independence Day

Lancaster, CA. June 21, 2021 - In honor of Independence Day, the City of Lancaster and the City of Palmdale are excited to announce a joint Fourth of July fireworks celebration at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds starting at 5 PM on Sunday, July 4. The show is expected to last approximately 5 hours. It will showcase free entertainment, the Rural Olympic Games, and spectacular fireworks to celebrate Independence Day and the country we call home.

A limited number of grandstand seating tickets will be available. Please visitwww.cityoflancasterca.org/july4 for a list of locations and events where tickets will be distributed. Seating outside of the grandstand arena is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your own chairs and blankets to ensure you have a seat. Parking information may be found on the website.

“The City of Lancaster is excited to partner with the City of Palmdale to put on a celebratory event for our entire region,” said City of Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Our community has been eager to take advantage of the warm weather and summer activities, so there is no better way to honor our great country and City than to gather as a community for this fireworks extravaganza.”

“This collaboration between our Cities is going to create what will be one of the largest and most spectacular fireworks shows this Valley has ever seen,” said Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer. “With this display of pyrotechnical power and color filling the skies, there is absolutely no need and no excuse for anyone to waste their time and money on illegal fireworks that pose a threat to life and property.”

As we eagerly await the fireworks show, please be responsible and respectful of the community and leave the use of fireworks to the professionals. Every year, fires and severe injuries to people and pets result from the illegal use of fireworks. The use, possession, sale, and transportation of all types of fireworks are illegal in Lancaster and any of the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Fines for the use of illegal fireworks, including “Safe and Sane” fireworks, begin at $2,500. In Palmdale, “Safe and Sane” fireworks are only allowed in designated areas. For a map of designated areas, visitwww.cityofpalmdale.org. All other fireworks are illegal. The fines for the use of illegal fireworks in Palmdale are $2,500 for a first offense, $5,000 for a second offense, and $10,000 for a third offense.
