Lancaster, CA — Community organizer, entrepreneur, and small business advocate Danielle Harper is sharing her vision for the future of Lancaster as she continues her campaign for City Council. Harper’s campaign focuses on strengthening the connection between residents, resources, and opportunity while encouraging civic engagement across the city.
Candidate Bio
Danielle Harper is a community leader and entrepreneur dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods through collaboration, opportunity, and civic engagement.
My vision for Lancaster is to fully utilize the immense potential of our city by creating systems that bring our community together while connecting residents to real opportunities. I believe public spaces and city programs should serve as hubs where residents can easily access social services, job pathways, and educational resources through clear, simplified tools such as infographics and community resource centers. By implementing merit-based community programs, residents who volunteer and support others in navigating these resources can earn access to opportunities, training, and support that help them move forward in life. This approach encourages civic engagement while building a culture where neighbors help neighbors and community participation leads to real benefits.
Campaign Platform
Harper’s campaign centers around three pillars: Stability, Opportunity, and Empowerment.
My top priorities are stability, opportunity, and empowerment. Stability means ensuring residents can easily access basic needs and the services that support healthy, thriving families. Opportunity means expanding pathways for youth, adults, and entrepreneurs through job connections, workforce training, and stronger partnerships with businesses that receive city incentives but are also encouraged to hire locally and invest in our workforce. Empowerment means creating a culture of civic participation where residents feel informed, engaged, and motivated to contribute to the progress of Lancaster. When people have access to resources, opportunities to grow, and a voice in their community, our entire city moves forward together.
Harper says her approach to leadership is grounded in listening to residents from all backgrounds and focusing on practical solutions that improve everyday life.
I am a candidate for the people because I come from the people. I have worked alongside day laborers as well as corporate professionals, which has given me a broad understanding of the realities many families face. At the end of the day, most people want the same things — stability for their households, safe neighborhoods, and the ability to enjoy time with their families. My goal is to reduce unnecessary barriers, expand access to opportunity, and create systems that allow residents to feel respected, heard, and supported as they build stable and fulfilling lives.--
