Palmdale, CA.-Supervisor Kathryn Barger issued the following statement today, after Los Angeles County first responders warned of extreme fire behavior during an evening press conference:

“Wildfires are unpredictable and this is a very dynamic emergency situation. I ask the public to be vigilant and heed any and all evacuation orders. Make you, your family, and pets’ safety your top priority. Don’t wait to leave if you are told to go. Squandering even a few minutes may be the difference between life and death.”

Evacuation orders are now underway for the #BridgeFire in Mt. Baldy and Wrightwood. Evacuation centers are being stood up at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds and Pomona Fairplex. Please heed the direction of first responders.

Barger’s office has sent out an update on Bridge Fire

We’ve declared a local emergency on the #BridgeFire, which has reached 35,000 acres. This will help us draw down every resource available to fight this fast-moving fire. Thank you to our first responders who continue to work around the clock to combat this fire and keep our communities safe.
