Backpack Giveaway Brings Families Together in Littlerock, Hosted by Assemblymember Juan Carrillo and Alpine Grange

LITTLEROCK, Calif. — Families from across the East Antelope Valley came together today for a successful Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway and Resource Fair, hosted by Assemblymember Juan Carrillo in partnership with the Alpine Grange in Littlerock.

The event welcomed hundreds of children and parents as they prepared for the upcoming school year. Students received free backpacks filled with school supplies while families connected with a variety of organizations offering valuable community resources and support services.

Among the organizations participating were Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH), Helping Hands AV, SALVA, SBCC, , AAA and the Keppel Union School District, along with other community partners dedicated to serving local families.

Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, several local youth queens volunteered their time throughout the morning, greeting families, assisting with backpack distribution, and helping children enjoy the event. Kids were also treated to free snow cones and delicious brownies, making it a fun day for the entire family.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between elected officials, nonprofit organizations, schools, and community volunteers to ensure students begin the school year prepared for success.

With the school year quickly approaching, today’s event is one of several backpack giveaways taking place throughout the Antelope Valley.
