AVMC welcomes its first baby of 2026, Baby Brielle.

LANCASTER, Calif., January 1, 2026) — Antelope Valley Medical Center proudly announces the arrival of its first baby of the new year! At 4:51am on January 1, 2026, Brielle, a healthy 7 pounds, 5 ounces, 19-inch baby girl was welcomed into the world by proud parents, Irma and Jose.
To celebrate this special occasion, the family received a gift basket from the AVMC Auxiliary, providing the baby and her parents with a variety of baby items, such as a new infant car seat, clothes, books, toys, baby supplies, and stuffed animals. Founded in 1957, the Auxiliary is a group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds through the hospital gift shops, thrift store, and other seasonal events to benefit hospital programs.
Welcoming nearly 4,500 babies each year, AVMC is committed to patient safety and delivering exceptional outcomes for mothers and newborns. Our Women and Infants Pavilion (WIP) offers a spacious, state-of-the-art maternity care facility with a full range of obstetrical and newborn services. The pavilion features 48 private Couplet Care rooms, thoughtfully designed with special beds and bassinets so mothers and babies can stay together from birth until discharge.
AVMC is also home to the region’s only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), providing advanced care for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients, and peace of mind for families. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, our Level IIIB NICU is staffed by board-certified Neonatologists who deliver compassionate, specialized care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
