UVALDE, Texas -- At least 14 students were killed and one teacher is dead after an "active shooter" incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott said.
Abbott also identified the shooter as an 18-year-old student at Uvalde High School.

"There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary," the school district said on Twitter. "Law enforcement is on site. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared."
The governor said it's believed that he abandoned his vehicle and entered into the Robb Elementary school with a handgun and, maybe a rifle, but said this has not been confirmed.

The school informed parents
shortly after 2 p.m. local time that students had been transported to the Sgt. Willie Deleon Civic Center, the reunification site, and could be picked up.
