86 stolen catalytic converters recovered and male adults were arrested

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, the AV Cat Crusaders conducted an operation in the 45600 block of 23rd Street West in the City of Lancaster.

Two male adults were arrested, cited, and released in connection with being in possession of 86 stolen catalytic converters.

The AV Cat Crusaders is a joint task force comprised of detectives from both Lancaster Sheriff’s Station and Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, as well as the Taskforce for Regional Auto Theft Prevention team (TRAP). The detectives on the task force dedicate themselves exclusively to combating catalytic converter thefts.

Lancaster Sheriff’s Station and the detectives on the task force are in the developmental stages of planning a community event where victims who can identify their catalytic converters would be able to recover them.

We encourage residents who have been victims of catalytic converter thefts or anyone with information or leads regarding catalytic converter thieves in their areas to contact Detective Gelardo. Detective Gelardo can be reached at (661) 940-3871 or by email at magelard@lasd.org.
