5th Annual “You Are Enough” Walk to Promote Mental Health Awareness in Palmdale

PALMDALE, Calif. — The Erick A. Garcia “You Are Enough” Foundation will host its 5th Annual Antelope Valley Mental Health Awareness Day and “You Are Enough” Walk on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Poncitlán Square in Palmdale.

The free community event will run from 8 a.m. to noon, bringing residents together to raise awareness about mental health, remember loved ones and connect families with community resources.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at approximately 8:05 a.m. The program is scheduled to include speakers, the AV Children’s Choir and a color guard presented by the AV Young Marines.
The “You Are Enough” Walk begins at 9 a.m. Participants will leave Poncitlán Square, cross Palmdale Boulevard and travel along Sierra Highway toward the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station before returning to the square. The walk is expected to conclude around 9:45 a.m.
Following the walk, activities and community resources will be available until noon. Organizers say the event will include children’s activities, bracelet making, free face painting, service dogs, a pet adoption drive, heart crafts, a “Why I Walk” chalkboard wall and Chalk Mafia.

A Comfort/Prayer Tent will also be available for anyone who needs a quiet space away from the crowd.

A raffle is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., followed by the closing ceremony at approximately 11:50 a.m., including a dove release in remembrance of loved ones.

The event is open to all ages, and pets are welcome on leashes. Organizers encourage participants to dress comfortably, check the weather, bring water if needed and consider bringing a poster supporting mental health awareness.
