Lake Los Angeles – Stephen Sorensen Community Regional Park -On Friday, October 3, 2025, over 200 people were in chairs and SRO to celebrate Hispanic Heritage with music, dance, food, beverages, singing, arts and crafts and a table filled with tchotchkes and promotional items to remember the night.

The Los Pepinos Felices Band, Erika and Robert Schwerdt and Basillio Hernandez, provided the opening music and sing-along, which was a delightful surprise to everyone. When the canned music came on, the dancing broke out. The music played was well-known and wildly popular Hispanic music. When Santana came on with Oye Como Va, the crowd erupted in dancing and singing. In addition to Zorba, Oye Como Va is among the most widely recognized pieces of music internationally.

The lovely ladies who came to dance exciting Folklorico for us were Alicia Villafuerte, Joalie Villafuerte, Veronica Ybarra and Jaina Valdovinos.

The ladies from Chirla came to support the community. The Band Shogos musicians Daniel, Ginger and Daniel came from Lancaster to play for us.

The raffle was held and pinatas made from ballons were ready to bash and the evening was over.
We will have these moments to remember.
