Palmdale, CA.- The 2025 Be the Impact - Girls Empowerment Conference is an inspiring and transformative event dedicated to nurturing the personal and professional growth of young girls. Our mission is to empower and equip them with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to navigate the challenges of adolescence and confidently embrace their future. Please save the date! The 11th Annual Be the Impact Girls Empowerment

Conference, hosted by LA County Parks, will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at East Los Angeles College. This transformative event will welcome over 1,000 young women ages 12-18 from diverse backgrounds across Los Angeles County. The conference will continue our efforts in fostering equity through parks and recreation, providing a platform for girls to amplify their voices, envision a future full of possibilities, and pursue their dreams. GEC 2025 celebrates the strength and potential of young women, showcasing how parks and recreation can drive social equity and create a sense of belonging. With innovative programming, an inclusive environment, and impactful engagement, this FREE event will inspire, connect, and empower participants.

The Well-Being Village is BACK! A vibrant hub where girls can engage in hands on-on self-care activities. Additionally, both the well-being village and the return of the Resource Fair Activation will include activities like:

 

  • Essential Oil Blending

  • Live Murals

  • Sports and Fitness

  • Crown Making

  • Bracelet Making

  • College and Career Exploration

  • Prizes and Giveaways

  • Mindfulness and Self-care activities

  • Lunch

  • Live Music and DJ

 

Workshops will include:

 

  • Be You Vision Board Party: Engage in art-based activities emphasizing self-care and resilience.

 

  • Positive and Healthy Relationships: Engage in interactive sessions promoting healthy communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Learn about the importance of self-respect, boundaries, and cultivating positive connections.

 

  • Career Exploration: Explore a diverse range of career paths through interactive workshops and panel discussions.

  • Gain insights from successful women professionals, fostering a vision for their own future careers.

 

  • Mindfulness and Self-Care: Discover the power of mindfulness and self-care practices for mental and emotional well-being. Participate in guided activities to develop practical strategies for stress management and resilience.

 

  • Women in STEM: Insights on careers, education, projects, Public Works, and more. Presenters highlight how Public Works enriches the daily lives of over 10 million people in LA County and what their work responsibilities include.

 

  • Girls in Sports: is geared for girls who play sports and girls that have never played. It provides an overview of girls in sports and the benefits that playing sports can give them both inside and outside the field.

 

  • Entrepreneurship: Unleash creativity and innovation through workshops on entrepreneurial skills. Hear from successful female entrepreneurs, learning about their journeys and gaining insights into starting one's own business.

 

  • Dance and Movement: The workshop will focus on female Hip Hop artists, dancers, and entrepreneurs through movement. We will go over the cultural background of hip-hop and vocabulary movements made popular by Missy Elliot, Mary J. Blige, and TLC to name a few.

 

  • Self-Identity: Discuss self-care, body image, personal hygiene, and growing up as a powerful young lady.

 

  • Empowerment and Resiliency: Cultivate a resilient mindset through motivational talks and interactive exercises. Empower girls to overcome challenges, embrace their strengths, and become confident leaders in their communities.

 

  • And more!

 

Additionally, the Well-Being Village and Resource Fair will feature community and department partners like the Department of Mental Health, Department of Public Health, LA County Library, LA County Public Works, and more. These partners will offer engaging activities and resources that promote well-being, creativity, and community connection.

Parents and guardians are welcome to join with their children, but parents, guardians, and adult chaperones will have limited access to the workshops and other experiences at 2025 GEC. All workshops, experiences, resources, and event space/seating will be reserved for registered GEC youth participants. A caregiver and parent lounge will be available for parents and caregivers, wishing to stay at the event.
