2022 Gas prices are now the most expensive in U.S history

As of Tuesday morning, the average cost for a gallon of gas in the country is $4.17, according to AAA. The current price is up approximately 10 cents from Monday and more than 50 cents from last week.
Gasbuddy projects the worse is yet to come for when looking at average prices. "The higher prices this time will likely stay around far longer," GasBuddy's head of petroleum analysis Patrick De Haan tweeted.
“The ban on Russian oil and gas has strong bipartisan support in the Congress and in the country.

"Americans have never seen gasoline prices this high, nor have we seen the pace of increases so fast and furious," GasBuddy head of petroleum analysis Patrick De Haan said in a statement announcing the news.
