City of Palmdale Road Construction Update For Aug 24-30

ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 24 THROUGH AUGUST 30, 2020

GENERAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION

1 – Pearblossom Highway from the California Aqueduct bridge to Valley Springs Road

Full closure of Pearblossom Hwy. from the California Aqueduct bridge to Valley Springs Road for roadway reconstruction work, starting June 12, 2020 and continuing through November 2020.

While Pearblossom Hwy. is closed, passenger vehicles will be detoured to Avenue S at Sierra Hwy. and Fort Tejon Rd. Local access will be provided to residents in the construction area, as needed and as construction permits. Travelers/commuters are advised to expect delays and to take alternate routes where possible. Avenue R, Avenue S, Palmdale Blvd/SR-138, Avenue P, or Avenue M are alternate east/west routes through the City to consider.

Commercial trucks having a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more must stay on designated truck routes, such as Sierra Hwy., Palmdale Blvd ./ SR-138, 47th St. East / SR-138, and Fort Tejon Rd. / SR-138 (see Title 10 of the Palmdale Municipal Code). Avenue S and Avenue R are not designated truck routes. Trucks are permitted on non-truck routes when it is the shortest and most direct route to perform a pickup or delivery. 2 – Palmdale Boulevard at 40th Street East

Intermittent closures on east bound Palmdale Boulevard for installation of handicap ramps.

3 – Rancho Vista Boulevard between 27th Street West and 25th Street West

Single lane closure on westbound Rancho Vista, Saturday 8/22, for utility potholing.

4 – Avenue S from 10th Street East to Casa Verde Drive

Intermittent lane closures in the east bound lanes from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM starting on Monday August 24th, through Thursday August 27th for sewer maintenance.

5 – Fairfield Ave from 30th Street East to 35th Street East

Intermittent shoulder closure on the southside of Fairfield Ave west of 35th Street East for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

6 – 30th Street East from Avenue R to Avenue R-4

Intermittent shoulder closure on the east side of 35th Street East north of Avenue R-4 for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming

7 – Pearblossom Highway from 50th Street East to Fort Tejon Road

Intermittent shoulder closure on the north side of Pearblossom Highway east of 50th Street East for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

8 – Intermittent shoulder closure on the north side of Pearblossom Highway east of 50th Street East for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming

Intermittent shoulder closure on the west side of 25th Street east north of Avenue R-8 for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

9 – Spanish Broom Drive from Casa Verde Drive to Zinnia Street

Intermittent shoulder closure on south side of Spanish Broom Drive east of Casa Verde Drive for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

10 – 30th Street West from Avenue P-8 to Rancho Vista Boulevard

Intermittent shoulder closure on the west side of 30th Street West south of Rancho Vista Blvd for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

11 – 35th Street East from Palmdale Boulevard to Avenue Q-12

Intermittent lane and shoulder closures for street improvements and traffic signal construction at Avenue Q-10.

12 – Rancho Vista Boulevard from 15th Street West to 30th Street West - new traffic pattern east bound Rancho Vista Boulevard

Right lane closure east bound on Rancho Vista Boulevard for the demo and replacement of all existing corner ramps from 15th St. West to 30th St. West. The intersections of 15th St. West, Dunbar St., Riverbend St., 22nd St. West, 23rd St. West, Mesa Lane, 28th St. West and 30th St. West will be impacted and may have either lane closures or be temporarily closed during the construction of the sidewalk ramps. There will also be traffic signal modification work at 20th St. West and at 25th St. West including the installation of new traffic signal poles. The traffic signals at these locations will be on red flash (four way stop) at times during this work. Please use alternate routes if possible and expect delays.

13 – 50th Street West from Avenue N to Avenue N-8

Lane closures on 50th St. West for street improvements. Access to Arnie Quinones Park will be closed for about 4 to 6 weeks for construction of the street improvements in front of the park.
