Mail theft suspect arrested in Lancaster

On Tuesday, 06/23/2020, on the 4000th block of West Avenue L-8, in the City of Lancaster, Palmdale Sheriff’s Station detectives executed a search warrant that resulted in the recovery of thousands of pieces of mail.

The mail recovered included personal mail, prescription medications, and packages. Detectives also recovered a vandalized community mailbox that had been stolen and cut open.

Detectives arrested Kenneth Thompson, 36, of Lancaster and booked him on charges of forgery and identity theft. He has a bond of $150,000.

Because of the massive amount of stolen mail, there are multiple victims.

If you reside in the Palmdale area and were the victim of mail theft between January 01, 2020 and June 23, 2020, please send an email to Detective John Hall (J2hall@lasd.org) with your name, address, a description of your stolen mail (if known), and the report number associated (If law enforcement wrote a criminal report).
