Update, Deputy Involved Shooting In Lancaster Friday Night.


Los Angeles County Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into a Deputy-Involved-Shooting that occurred on the 1700 block of West Avenue K, Lancaster on Friday, May 29, 2020 at approximately 7:48PM. Detectives have learned that Deputies assigned to Lancaster Station were on patrol in the area of East Avenue K, East of 20th Street West in the City of Lancaster. Deputies observed a suspect, male white adult walking Eastbound on the sidewalk. As Deputies contacted the suspect they saw he had a firearm in his hand. An altercation with the suspect ensued and the suspect was taken to the ground, during which time a Deputy-Involved-Shooting occurred. No Deputies were injured. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A replica firearm was recovered at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information at this time.
