Pedestrian killed in Palmdale

On May 23, 2020, at approximately 9:54 p.m., Palmdale deputies responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision on 10th St West and Avenue N in the city of Palmdale. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the driver of a 2008 Suzuki SX4 (party involved) who was driving northbound on 10th Street West, south of Avenue N, in the number one lane. The area of the roadway was very dark and the driver was unable to see a pedestrian walking in the roadway. The driver collided with the pedestrian in the number one lane. The driver did not have any signs of impairment or being under the influence. A witness stated the pedestrian was walking across 10th Street West from east to west. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased. Palmdale Station traffic investigators were notified and responded to investigate the traffic collision scene. This investigation is ongoing. There are no further details at this time.
