Van’s rewards Wilsona School District Classified employees.
Lake Los Angeles – Van’s has a give-back program that is far reaching, worldwide and rewards groups for efforts to support others during challenging times. They refer to their awardees as heroic and those who are putting people first.
Lake Los Angeles resident Sarah Hager reached out to Linda Kunkel, Director of Transportation at Wilsona School District, to nominate the district’s classified employees because they are paying it forward to the District’s families at what is a most difficult time and without a doubt, an historical time for the whole country. Sarah is the store manager at Van’s in the Antelope Valley Mall.
Sarah said, “I nominated the bus drivers, the food service employees, the classified employees in the District because of their attitude toward uplifting the kids and the outstanding job they are doing. I made a partnership with Linda to recognize the District’s people.”
There are over 100 classified positions in the Wilsona School District and Van’s generously provided shoes to them as their way of recognizing the dedication and caring shown at this challenging and unprecedented point in time. Pictured are Pam Whitcomb, Linda Kunkel and Sheri Jurovich helping the employees pick out their size shoe and style. As each received their shoes, they signed the thank you signboard behind the table. The Van’s family said, “As you work tirelessly to give to others, we want to give back to you. These shoes are our way of saying thank you. We hope you enjoy your new Vans and please visit Vans.com to learn more about how we are supporting those in need and continuing to enable creative self-expression.”
