Some cities and counties leaders through out the Country want to reopen for business. More California communities are asking Gov. Gavin Newsom to ease stay-at-home restrictions even as state officials say there still is no firm timetable to safely do so.
Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer, message to the residents of the City of Palmdale. which was posted on his Facebook account early Sunday morning.
"On Tuesday 4/28, 5th District Supervisor Kathryn Barger with Sup Solis of the LA County Board of Supervisors will introduce 2 items related to Safely Reopening LA County (including the the 85 incorporated cities under the jurisdiction of the LA County Health Dept.) directing the CEO and Health Officer to report back in 7 days on measures to contain Covid-19 and prerequisites to relaxing the County’s “Safer At Home” orders.
What will be decided this Tuesday is whether to look at the matter, and report back on or about May 5th.
We have been continuously engaged with the supervisor’s office and health staff and various medical experts on this issue from the beginning. We have discussed risk factors, best practices, safety and mitigation measures - based on scientific data and our health experts input - and monitoring measures that can be logically employed to allow businesses to safely reopen, while keeping customers and staff healthy.
This issue will be decided by the County, obviously with input from cities, business, residents and health professionals.
In addition, they will consider another motion for Economic Recovery measures."
Be well
Steve
