A telephone number has now been set up for Antelope Valley residents to register for coronavirus testing in Lancaster and Palmdale.

People who meet the criteria can call the Los Angeles County information number 211, and tell the community resource advisor they need to register for testing. People can also register for either Palmdale or Lancaster test site at https://corona-virus.la/.

County Public Health and Fire Department officials prefer that people register online; the telephone number is for people who don’t have access to the Internet.

The testing is ONLY by appointment; no walk-ups will be accepted.

The testing is ONLY for people with COVID 19 symptoms who meet other criteria.

Individuals eligible for testing at this time include:

•Those with symptoms who are 65 and older

•Those with symptoms who have underlying chronic health conditions

•Those who are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine period due to a confirmed COVID-19 exposure (with more than seven days of quarantine remaining)

The Centers for Disease Controls say the most common symptoms of COVID 19 are fever, cough and difficulty breathing.

The Palmdale testing site opened today in an Antelope Valley Mall parking lot in a joint effort by the City of Palmdale, AV Mall, Los Angeles County and Palmdale Regional Medical Center.

The Lancaster testing site opened Wednesday in a High Desert Medical Group parking lot in a joint effort by the City of Lancaster, Los Angeles County and High Desert Medical Group.
