Kern County Public Health Department is monitoring 11 people for the CoronaVirus

The Kern County Public Health Department is monitoring 11 people for the coronavirus just as a precaution, public health says.

11 individuals from Kern County traveled to China in the last 14 days.None of the individuals are symptomatic at this time and have not met the protocol to be treated for the virus.

Newsom will be holding a press conference today at 10:30 a.m. at the California Department of Public Health to discuss the state’s response to the coronavirus.

Public health says this is purely "precautionary" and "demonstrates how careful they are being."
