Ex-LAPD Officer Convicted of 2015 Off-Duty Murder in Pomona
A former Los Angeles Police Department officer was found guilty today of murdering a 23-year-old man in downtown Pomona five years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
A jury deliberated for more than two days before finding Henry Solis (dob 7/29/87) guilty of one count of second-degree murder. The special allegation that Solis personally used a firearm was found true. Solis faces 40 years to life in state prison when he is scheduled to be sentenced on March 11.
Deputy District Attorneys Martha Carrillo and Deann Rivard of the Justice System Integrity Division prosecuted the case. On March 13, 2015, Salome Rodriguez walked past Solis as he stood outside a bar in Pomona. The defendant pursued the victim and fatally shot him. Solis fled to Mexico and was arrested two months later.
Case BA434593 was investigated by the Los Angeles and Pomona police departments.
