“Resolution Motivation” with Rocks Coming to Marie Kerr Park

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale will co-host a “Resolution Motivation” event with AVRocks on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 10 am to noon and 2 to 4 pm the Marie Kerr Park Community Building, located at 39700 30th St. West. This free event is open to everyone age 5 and above. Park staff will provide rocks, paint, brushes and tips to help participants create inspiration and beautiful motivational rocks for the New Year. After painting, participants will be encouraged to “hide” them nearby with the hope and intention that the finder will be encouraged to have a great New Year and to share the experience on social media with the hashtags #AVRocks and #RockTheArtPalmdale. A member from the Facebook page, #AVRocks will be on hand to help share techniques and fun. “If you enjoy painting and like to make others happy with random kindness acts, then this is just for you,” said Palmdale’s Recreation Coordinator Joi Christy. “The rock movement encourages members of the public to create “painted masterpieces” on rocks, hide them throughout the Antelope Valley, and post the location on social media.
