Sheriff’s Office seizes large amount of illegal drugs .
On December 12, 2019, investigators with the Kern County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant in the 400 block of South Bliss Street, in Bakersfield. Investigators seized the following items of evidence:
Kerm County Press Release -Approximately 34lbs of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $308,720.00. -Approximately 1.45lbs of heroin with an estimated street value of $39,498.00. -1,963 fentanyl pills with an estimated street value of $19,630.00 -$15,758.00 in currency. -Two handguns. -A methamphetamine conversion lab. Maria Urbina (25), of Bakersfield, was arrested for felony changes of possession of a methamphetamine lab, possession of methamphetamine for for the purposes of sales, possession of narcotics for the purposes of sales, conspiracy to commit a crime, keeping a residence for the purposes of sales, and possession of a controlled drug while armed. Urbina was booked into the Kern County Sheriff's Office Central Receiving Facility pending court proceedings. The investigation is ongoing.
