Lancaster City Council  proposed ordinance on feeding the Homeless in public will be revisited.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019  the  Lancaster’s City Council decided on  setting up a committee and will revisit a proposed  ordinance that could ban  handing out food to the homeless or individuals on public property. 

Any volunteer or groups wanting to use space in the City public parks, they must comply with all of state and county food safety requirements. In order to distribute food to individuals. 

The Council has not voted-on the proposed ordinance . According to the ordinance (1071) Distribution is often conducted in locations that do not have adequate access to clean water, waste disposal and bathroom facilities, which poses significant health and safety hazards to the persons being served as well as the public at larg
