More than 300 DUI arrests, eight deaths during first 30 hours of CHP maximum enforcement in the stat

CHP  arrested 314 suspected DUI drivers within the first 30 hours of the agency’s maximum enforcement period for the 2019 Thanksgiving Holiday.  That is  20 more that were arrested last year 2018. 

As of 6 a.m. Friday, there were eight people killed statewide on roadways patrolled solely by the CHP, five less than during the same period in 2018. 

In Los Angeles County, two have been killed, two more than during the same period last year.

54 were in L.A. County, which was five less than during this same the period in 2018.
