Updates on road closures, due to the snow.

A few 3 inches of snow have cover the  Antelope Valley. The city and surrounding areas were expecting another 4 inches of snow.  

Caltrans is asking for drivers to be aware of the weather conditions and drive accordingly.

ANGELES CREST HWY (SR-2) is under R1 chain control. Vehicles are required to equip chains if they want to visit the Angeles National Forest. If you don’t have chains, stay away and don’t get stuck like these folks. Drive safe and SLOW DOWN for workers. Accirding to Caltrans. 

KERN COUNTY, Update: Eastbound State Route 58 is now OPEN, per @chpmojave . Please exercise caution on the roadway in inclement weather! 

SR 138 from Hess Road to Beekley Road is completely closed until further notice.

The National Weather Service issued flood warnings and advisories for parts of Southern California for Thursday morning. Intense downpours of up to half an inch an hour threatened to cause road flooding and mudflows in recent wildfire burn areas, including the hillsides where the Getty fire burned
