Antelope Valley residents can dispose of unwanted or expired prescription medications free of charge and with no questions asked from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Kaiser Permanente’s Antelope Valley Medical Office, 615 West Avenue L.

The prescription drug drop-off event is being hosted by Kaiser Permanente, Tarzana Treatment Center, the California Highway Patrol and Pueblo Y Salud in connection with National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Liquids and syringes will not be accepted. Medication that is improperly taken or abused is a leading cause of accidental poisoning. Unusued or expired medications that are thrown out with trash or flushed down drains can end up polluting the environment.
