A Rosamond sheriff deputy was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in patrol car.
On October 17, 2019, detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office received information a 21-year-old female resident of Rosamond was sexually assaulted by Kern County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Clark.
The victim reported the assault took place inside Deputy Clark’s patrol vehicle while Deputy Clark was on duty.
Detectives from the Professional Standards Unit responded to Rosamond to conduct the sexual assault investigation.

The victim reported on August 24, 2019, at approximately 1900 hours, she was walking from work toward her residence. Deputy Clark pulled up next to the victim and offered her a ride to her residence. The victim accepted the ride in Deputy Clark’s patrol vehicle and sat in the front seat. When Deputy Clark and the victim arrived at her residence, Deputy Clark leaned over from the driver seat and “forced” himself on the victim, which included acts of kissing and fondling. The victim said the assault lasted approximately 20 minutes and she felt she was not allowed to leave the patrol vehicle. Eventually, Deputy Clark permitted the victim to exit his patrol vehicle.
The victim reported over the next several days, Deputy Clark began messaging her on social media asking if she would meet with him. The victim reported that on multiple occasions and while on duty, Deputy Clark came to her place of business and asked her if she wanted to hang out and/or go out for drinks. The victim lives in the Rosamond area and prior to the incident on August 24, 2019, she had never had any kind of relationship or interactions with Deputy Clark.
P Deputy Clark was arrested by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and will be booked into the Central Receiving Facility on the following charges: PC 236 False Imprisonment PC 207 Kidnapping PC 149 Assault Under the Color of Authority PC 243.4(a) Sexual Battery PC 243.4(d) Sexual Battery Deputy Michael Everett Clark (31) was employed by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in April 2017 and has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 2.5 years. Deputy Clark has been assigned to the Rosamond Substation since November 2018.
