A 20 year old Palmdale man was arrested on felony vehicle theft charges.

A deputy was patrolling Monday around 3 a.m. on Sand Canyon Road, near the 14 freeway, conducting business parking lot checks when he discovered a stolen Honda Civic in the parking lot of a 7-11. The Honda had been reported stolen the previous day.

The deputy made contact with the male driver and asked him about the car.  At first the man said the car was given to him by a random stranger but that story soon changed.

Deputies ended up arresting the 20-year-old Palmdale man on felony vehicle theft charges. The man was also found to have an active warrant in the system for a weapons violation, so he was arrested on that too
