Prescribed Burns at Piute Ponds on Edwards Air Force Base.

Multiple land managers have planned a prescribed burn of vegetation at Piute Ponds on Edwards Air Force Base to begin at approximately 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. 

The operation is a training exercise that may continue over the course of several days.

All precautions will be undertaken during the operation and AVAQMD staff will monitor air quality for potential smoke impacts, though impacts are expected to be minimal.
