On July 11, 2019, at approximately 12:45pm, Kern County Sheriff’s Office was called regarding a body found in the Kern River.

KCSO Kern Valley Search and Rescue and Bakersfield Search and Rescue recovered the body above Sandy Flat.
The body is male, unknown age. The identity of the victim will be pending notification by the Coroner’s Office.
