Kern County Sheriff’s Office responds to three separate calls for people missing in the water.

At approximately 4:36pm on July 4, Air5 landed in the area of Rabbit Island at Lake Isabella, and gave CPR to a woman who was declared deceased. Forest Service is the lead agency, and Park Rangers assisted. 

At 4:56pm, KCSO Kern Valley Search and Rescue was called for three people in the water area of a Granite Point. 

One is still missing, another was hoisted to safety by KCFD, and the other self-rescued.

At about 5:11pm, KCSO Bakersfield Search and Rescue and Park Rangers responded to the Kern River near Lake Ming for a missing 20-year-old male. The search for those two people continues.
