Lancaster Woman Charged with Killing Boyfriend
A 31-year-old woman has been charged with killing her boyfriend at their Lake Los Angeles home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.
Deputy District Attorney Tina Behboudi said Melissa Buranasombati (dob 11/4/87) of Lancaster faces one count of murder with a knife use allegation.
Arraignment is scheduled today in Department A01 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Antelope Valley Branch. Case MA076063 was filed on April 12.
Buranasombati is charged with fatally stabbing Edward Cole, 31, in the chest on April 9, the prosecutor said.
If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison. Bail is set at more than $2 million.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
