Burglary Suspect Shot, Killed By Lancaster Resident.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives  responded to the 45100 block of Loma Vista Drive, Lancaster, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male, Black adult. Detectives have learned that Lancaster Station deputies responded to a residence regarding a “Burglary Now, Person Shot” call.  When deputies arrived, they located a male, Black adult inside the residence who had sustained one gunshot wound to the upper torso. The male, Black adult was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigation gathered at the scene revealed that a family was inside their home when they heard loud banging noises. The male, Black adult then entered the upstairs bedroom, where, fearing for his safety and the safety of his children, the resident armed himself with a handgun and fired one shot, striking the suspect. No residents were injured. It appears that the male, Black adult suspect entered the residence through one of the downstairs rear windows of the location. The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
