PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library’s Mystery Book Club “Murder, Mystery & Mayhem” will discuss the book The Red-Haired Woman by Nobel Prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk on Wednesday, April 17, at 7 pm in the Chimbole Cultural Center, located at 38350 Sierra Highway.
Set in Turkey, 16-year-old Cem finds work as a well-digger’s apprentice for the summer, and as he and his master exchange stories, they form an unlikely bond. However, Cem’s fascination with a mysterious and much older red-haired woman who performs with a traveling theater group may ultimately lead to disaster.
The Mystery, Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm, at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center. The group is open to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. For more information, please call the Palmdale City Library at 661/267-5600 or TDD 267-5167, or visit www.cityofpalmdale.org/library.
