Celebrate America with Thunder in Downtown Lancaster

Two of Lancaster’s favorite events collide to bring you Celebrate America with Thunder which will take place in downtown Lancaster on Friday June 8, from 5 to 9 p.m.

The annual patriotic party will be infused with the roar of the former Thunder on the Lot BLVD Cruise-in, and will feature live musical performances, fireworks, food trucks, and more.

Kicking off the evening’s entertainment will be modern day crooner Rat Pack Ricky, who will transport attendees back to the jazz era with classic selections from the Great American Songbook. Following the nostalgic tribute, Rumble King -- comprised of musicians who combine the tuneful influence of early rock ‘n’ roll, blues, rockabilly, and jazz -- will take the stage to entertain the crowd with their unique sound.

At 6 p.m., the Bandstand will host the event’s opening ceremonies, where active and former military personnel will be recognized. There will also be a special presentation of the colors from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Explorers and the raising of the colossal American flag.

A spectacular explosion of fireworks will close out the evening’s activities. The show will fill the sky with patriotic sparkle and leave those in attendance with fond memories of the nostalgic event.
