LASD Investigates Triple Fatal Traffic Collision, Challenger Way/East Av J-8, Lancaster


Traffic Investigators from Lancaster Sheriff’s Station are investigating a triple fatal traffic collision that occurred on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at approximately at 12 P.M., at the intersection of Challenger Way and East Avenue J-8 in Lancaster. Preliminary investigation indicates a silver 4-door sedan traveling east on Avenue J-8 collided with a blue 4 door sedan traveling north on Challenger Way. Due to the force of the impact, the silver 4-door sedan overturned. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and provided medical attention. The three occupants of the blue 4-door sedan, one male adult and two female adults, were pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the silver 4-door sedan, four male adults, were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries and expected to survive. At this time, it appears that alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor. The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
