Man Charged With Attempted Murder of Two LAPD Officers

A man was charged today with trying to kill two Los Angeles police officers and a man in the Westlake District last week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Ivan Castillo (dob 6/2/90) was charged in case BA463988 with two counts each of attempted murder of a peace officer and assault on a peace officer with a semiautomatic firearm and one count each of attempted murder and assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The felony complaint also includes special allegations that the defendant personally used and intentionally discharged a handgun.

Castillo is scheduled to be arraigned today in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray of the Crimes Against Peace Officers Section is prosecuting the case.
