City of Lancaster Recycling Team Coming to a Neighborhood Near You

The City of Lancaster has received a grant from CalRecycle to develop community outreach programs designed to engage with Lancaster residents regarding recycling here in Lancaster. The objective of these programs is to start a conversation with City residents regarding what can be recycled, how and where to recycle, as well as why we as a community should recycle. The first of these outreach initiatives includes members of the City of Lancaster Recycling Team. They will provide information to residents by setting up temporary Pop-Up-Tent events in City neighborhoods. These events will allow the Recycling Team to talk about the City’s recycling programs, listen to and answer the public’s questions, and provide information regarding recycling best practices. The first pop-up event will take place on Tuesday, March 29 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Mariposa Wellness Home, located at 45534 Gadsden Avenue. The City’s Recycling Team will be available to speak with citizens regarding the City’s various recycling programs, specifically the curbside used oil recycling program and the 24 hour recycling center, where residents can recycle antifreeze, batteries, oil, paint and electronic waste for FREE. The City of Lancaster encourages everyone to come out and take advantage of this opportunity to learn from its Recycling Team. For more information regarding this event, visit the Development Services counter at Lancaster City Hall, located at 44933 Fern Avenue, or call (661) 723-6100.
