What’s County Capers?

Lake Los Angeles – County Capers is a performance dance team, a program of song and dance musical revival performances. What is not: a competition ... it is purely a performance opportunity.

The theme for 2016 is “Radio Waves”. Remember back in the day, when static ruled the air waves when you moved from one radio station to the next? It sounded a little like Morris Code married a Fax machine and this was their offspring. It is a song and dance musical revival. It’s a little dancing, a little acting, a little singing (lip-sync) and a whole lot of fun.

Registration is $35.00 and non-refundable. There could be additional costs for costumes, props activities, etc. The program runs from March through June 2016. Ages are from 4 years to 17 years

Teachers are Brittany Henry from Palmdale who is on staff at LLA Park, Alehandra Cook and Sir Harris both from Lake Los Angeles Practice started last Thursday, March 3. The next practices are on Thursday, March 10 and Friday March 11 with each subsequent Thursday and Friday thereafter from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

The troupe will perform at the Dance Expo on April 2 at Arcadia Park and again on May 28. The finale will be June 4 at Belvedere Park – Lakeside in East Los Angeles. Dancers going with the Lake Los Angeles troupe will be from George Lane and Jackie Robinson County Parks.

What’s in it for you? Staying active is one benefit. Bringing the much needed and missed arts to our Park because it is all of these things: singing, dancing, acting and music is another biggie. You can have fun representing Lake Los Angeles. Anything else?

See Regina or a member of the staff for more information. Mark your calendar for Thursday and join in on the fun
