Lancaster’s Museum of Art and History (MOAH) to Install Green Revolution Exhibition


Lancaster’s Museum of Art and History (MOAH) Vanity exhibit. MOAH will “go dark,” January 25 through February 12, to transition from the current exhibition to the upcoming round of shows. The upcoming show, Green Revolution, utilizes art and environmental education as a catalyst for leading greener, more sustainable lives. Sponsored by Lancaster Choice Energy and sPower, the diverse artwork on display will incorporate recycled materials, as well as addressing topics which include: urban farming and gardening; sustainable design; water harvesting; and renewable energy, such as wind and solar power. The Green Revolution exhibition will open on February 13, with a free public reception held on Saturday, February 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Aligned with the City of Lancaster’s goal of becoming a NetZero community, MOAH and its sister facility MOAH:CEDAR are both presenting a season of individual shows which focus on sustainable living. MOAH:CEDAR’s show Smaller Footprints will open to the public January 30. MOAH:CEDAR, also home to the Andrew Frieder Creative space, is located at 44857 Cedar Avenue and is open Thursday through Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. While MOAH and MOAH:CEDAR prepare for the new exhibits, patrons are encouraged to visit the Western Hotel Museum. The Western Hotel Museum, located at 557 W. Lancaster BLVD, is open the 2nd and 4th Saturday and accompanying Friday of each month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information regarding exhibits and activities at these locations, visitwww.lancastermoah.org.
