Lancaster Residents Can Sign Up For Emergency Notifications

The City of Lancaster's CodeRED Notification System is an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for notifying residents. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation which requires immediate action (such as a missing child or evacuation notice). Although its primary purpose is communication in emergency situations, CodeRED may also be used to notify residents regarding non-emergency situations which may significantly impact daily routine (such as a large event that will require the closing of major streets to heavily trafficked areas). The system is capable of dialing 60,000 phone numbers per hour, delivering the City's recorded message to a live person or an answering machine. CodeRED will make three attempts to connect to any number on file. Make sure you can be reached during emergencies by adding and updating your personal contact information via the logo link above.

If you do not wish to receive CodeRED emergency calls, you must provide to the City an original copy of a complete and signed "CodeRED Do Not Call Authorization Form." Please note that if you opt out of this emergency notification service, the City will not be able to contact you by phone, even to notify you in the severe case of a natural disaster or local evacuation. You may download the "CodeRED Do Not Call Authorization Form below, and can bring it in to Lancaster City Hall, 44933 Fern Avenue, during regular business hours, Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
