1 Arrested and 24 Cited at Palmdale DUI Checkpoint

Palmdale, Calif. – On May 30, 2024, 1 person was arrested for Driving Under the Influence at a DUI checkpoint.

The DUI checkpoint was held at Avenue R / 40th Street East from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

22 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed, 2 people were arrested for driving with a suspended/revoked license, and 711 vehicles were contacted.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
