1 Arrested and 16 cited at Lancaster DUI Checkpoint

Lancaster, Calif. – On May 17th, 2024, Lancaster Station personnel arrested one person for DUI.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Sierra Highway and Lancaster Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
A total of 16 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, a total of 555 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
